Mortimer![]()
Big brakes, Ferrari seats. The Legend?
Gone, but not forgotten....
74 Spider![]()
Got eaten.
The General![]()
1973 Berlina
Purchased July 1998
Pains me to say good-bye to this one but there are too many cars for too small a budget.
Traded for a paint job on the spider.
1974 GTV![]()
My old GTV shortly after purchase. My second Alfa came with these nice Momo 6"x14" wheels. This car got the go fast treatment, including
Shankle springs and sway bars, yellow Koni "sports" all around, adjustable upper arms.
The motor is where most of the effort (money) went. Starting from stock I went for a "short port" with some 7L cams. an electric fan. Nice, but not yet enough......
I traded that head for one of Jon Norman's "development"heads with O/S intake valves, a complete sport port job and 11mm Pittatore FI cams. Also milled .020 for increased compression ratio. Similar to a"stage 3" treament.
At the same time, 10.4 pistons, milled flywheel, 911Spressure plate, balanced (.5 grm was the standard then)......
(see Mortimerfor further development of this motor)
Alfa at the rare American Formula 1 event of 1980 and the "Long Beach Gran Prix".
Photos.
It's only a cigarette lighter, how hard can it be to fix? (It's not)
