Alfa GTA "close ratio" Non-Moly; 2:54-1st., 1:70-2nd.,1:26-3rd., 1.0-4th.,
.085 roller bearing 5th.
I've opted to retain the ancient "push down for
reverse" mechanism as having some charm or character, fitting perfectly
with Mortimer's already uniquely individual personality. Got a good shift
arm from Nasko. Tho it's not in yet, and it looks like it can be changed
"in car" if i can't stand it.
Problem:
The dia of the105 input shaft was too large for
the 2 ltr. bellhousing.
I used a standard 2 ltr unit from Mortimers
old tranny.
Problem:
Shift rods are longer on the old tranny case. However,
by luck, I have what must be an early 2 ltr bellhousing with an opening
for the shift rods to poke through and engage the reverse light switch.
Unfortunatly, there is a break at the starter which required welding.

Front tranny seal (bellhousing): 26x37x7mm
